Steve Uccello: Press
Damn!! We just had Keith, Dayan Kai and Steve Uccello play last Friday in St. Maries Idaho...It was flat unreal and I think the trio really enjoyed playing here. What a bunch of great guys, it was like I've known them for a long time...They flat blasted one out of the park. I think the majority of the crowd had kind of an "awakening".

...if you want to get high on life just listen to Dayan Kai and Steve Uccello, the best combo I have ever heard.

(Steve Uccello was the bassist in the group Water, about which the following review was written)
Few bands any longer play music the way Water does- with the great and noble exception of a clutch of singer songwriters from Texas. A blend of folk, blues, country and whatever else seems good for a summery Sunday afternoon, Water sings of a particular time and place, of Santa Cruz county at the cusp of the millennium. But it’s not the sound of tens of thousands of commuters heading out of the community to high tech occupations. Instead it’s songs of the power of the land, of the small, rustic places that persist among a community in transition. Lead by song writing and vocals from Dayan Kai, Water stands as a reminder of the many spirited pleasures of the local amid the rush to globalism.
